While technically Secretly-Important.com made its internet debut on July 10th of 2011, it was December 10th 2010 at a time of major transition in my life that I started secretlyimportant.blogspot.com, it grew and developed over time and blah, blah, blah eventually became this website that you’re looking at today. For five years this website has pushed the limits of everything I knew how to do and many things I didn’t yet know anything about; writing, website publishing, audio recording, photography, interviewing… and I’ve grown artistically in ways I could never have imagined.
I want to thank everyone who’s supported the website over the last five years, every artist who’s agreed to sit down with me and let me interview them, everyone who’s sent me their music for me to review (I apologize to those I never got to), everyone who’s agreed to take part in some project I was working on whether it panned out or not, everyone who’s read an article, listened to an interview, or looked at our pictures and videos, everyone who ever shared an article to helped spread the word about some really cool band.
2015 was great and cool things are brewing for 2016, after five years of Secretly-Importnat.com, I only hope that I’ve played at least a small role in raising awareness of some of the amazing artists in the region.
Just for fun here’s five of my favorite albums from the five years I’ve been doing this site, I can’t tell you how hard this was to reduce this list to just five, and I still don’t think I got it right.
